Logan Thomas Johnson decided to make his arrival fashionably late. He was born 3 days after my due date and those last few days seemed to last forever. From the moment they placed him into my arms my life changed for the better. We feel so blessed and couldn’t be more in love.
We were admitted to the hospital at 2:30 AM last Monday night and Logan was born at 8:43 PM Tuesday. I had so much anxiety leading up to labor and giving birth. I had no idea what to really expect. It wasn’t easy and the past week hasn’t been easy either. Logan was born at Swedish Medical Center – First Hill Campus. I was so happy that Dr. de la Torre got to deliver my baby. She has been an incredible doctor during this pregnancy journey. The nurses I had during the experience will also always have a special place in my heart. I plan to do a post about my actual labor and the struggles post-partum most people don’t talk about.

Welcome to the world Logan!
Still in our birthing room before moving over to the postpartum room. What an experience.
Snuggles with my boy in our postpartum room at the hospital. What a whirlwind week it has been.
We left the hospital to go home Thursday afternoon. I sat in the backseat watching Logan in the car seat the whole time. For the first time in a while, I didn’t feel like I was driving with a race car driver. Ryan actually went really slow home and was extra cautious. I can get used to that and hope his more passive driving continues!
Our first family photo arriving back to our apartment. We will be living in our tiny 500 sq ft apartment for a little longer. Enjoying Capitol Hill as much as we can before we move.
Champagne toasts Friday night after a homecooked meal by my mom. Wish my parents could have stayed longer. My parents and Ryan’s parents did so much for us in our adjustment the first few days we arrived home. By Sunday, all our family was gone and it was just us.
Logan’s first Sunday Funday. We spent Logan’s first Sunday watching football and laying around the house. Our apartment complex had a rooftop cookout that evening. We enjoyed some hamburgers and hotdogs to celebrate the Panthers & Seahawk victories.
We dressed Logan in Seahawks colors but he won’t be in these colors when the Panthers come to town in a few weeks.

So in love with this child.

What a touching post. I really look forward to reading your post on labor and post-partum. Why do we women not talk about these things openly? Thank you so much in advance for the courage to share your experiences. xoxo
Thanks Ginny!! There was so much I didn’t know about the birthing process even after taking some classes at the hospital. The first few days after birth were really hard and emotional!
Motherhood looks so good on you! Its an incredible experience (the good and the bad!). Enjoy every moment of it. I love seeing all the pictures of sweet Logan.
Thanks Alyse! I didn’t know I was capable of feeling this blessed until he arrived!
